Sowing Hope: Our First Community Garden Opens in La Gloria

Jun 6, 2026

At the Fundación Jefatura Femenina del Hogar, we are fulfilling a dream that is now coming true. With hearts full of joy, we are pleased to announce to our entire community that we have acquired a plot of land in the village of La Gloria, which officially becomes our first community garden.

A project that starts from the ground up

This space marks the beginning of a new journey. For the first time, our foundation has its own land to grow the raw materials needed to make our traditional Pacific sweets. This project is a major step toward production independence, allowing us to ensure superior quality in every sweet: 100% natural fruits, free of chemicals, and grown by the hardworking hands of the single mothers who are the heart and soul of our foundation.

Our commitment to life and care

This garden is our direct contribution to the National Care System. By working the land, we are not only producing food; we are nurturing life.:

  • Food Sovereignty: We take control of what we produce to ensure the well-being of our families.
  • Caring for Nature: We honor our land through sustainable and respectful farming practices.
  • Products 0 km: We cut out the middleman and reduce our environmental footprint by bringing what we grow directly to our kitchens.

A team with ancestral knowledge

The launch of this project was an unforgettable experience. Recently, we conducted a technical inspection and blessing ceremony at the site in the village of La Gloria, where we were joined by our wise midwife Felipa Cuero (from the Raposo River), María Herminia Parra, and our legal representative, Valencia Cuero.

Seeing our midwives share their wisdom about the land with the mothers of the foundation was the push we needed to understand that this project is not just about production; it is about preserving our identity.

Coming soon: our first seed!

We’re putting the finishing touches on preparations for the big moment: planting our first seed. We invite you to follow this process on our website and social media. You’ll witness how, in the village of La Gloria, the future of our sweets and the economic independence of our women are taking shape.

Thank you for being part of this historic beginning, full of flavor, tradition, and hope!
