Who we are

  • About us

Institutional Identity and Purpose

The Female Head of Household Foundation (FUNDAJEFEHOGAR) has as its main objective the management and promotion of social impact projects that contribute to improving the quality of life of female heads of household and their families.

Our work is based on and takes its name from Article 2 of Law 1232 of 2008, which defines a Female Head of Household as follows:

“…who, whether single or married, is the female head of household and has under her care, affectively, economically, or socially, on a permanent basis, her own minor children or other persons incapable or unable to work, whether due to the permanent absence or physical, sensory, mental, or moral incapacity of the spouse or partner, or a substantial lack of support from other members of the family.”

Our commitment

We recognize Female Head of Household as a social category derived from sociodemographic, economic, and cultural transformations that redefine the role of women. Therefore, FUNDAJEFEHOGAR works to ensure that this reality is recognized, strengthened, and supported through initiatives that promote:

  • Guarantee of Rights: Facilitating access to justice, health, and education.
  • Economic Autonomy: Fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.

Territorial Development: Strengthening ancestral knowledge and the social fabric in rural and urban communities.

Mission

To manage and promote social, cultural, and environmental impact projects that improve the quality of life of single mothers and their households in Buenaventura, defending human rights, the territory, and peace.

Vision

To be the leading organization in the Colombian Pacific in the empowerment of women leaders, recognized for its capacity for technical influence, cultural safeguarding, and transformation of the social fabric.

Our approach

Our work is based on:
